Every year we hear new arguments why another player is the best in the game. We saw it with Connor McDavid, we saw it with Nikita Kucherov, we saw it with Nathan MacKinnon. Sidney Crosby preceded all of them and he's still showing, even at an advanced age, why he's still one of the absolute best players in the world.

On Friday, during the first period of a matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh, NC, Crosby made a sensational play under pressure, while falling over, to pass the puck ONE-HANDED to defenseman Marcus Pettersson, who fed Jake Guentzel in front for the easy redirection to open the scoring. Just watch this play. Peak Sid.

It's plays like these that make Crosby such a difficult player to defend. He has absolutely no quit in him. It doesn't matter if guys are trying to play that clutch and grab style hockey - Sid always seems to find a way.

This play is just another example of why we should not discount the play of the 3-time Stanley Cup winner even into his mid-30's. I don't think it's a stretch to imagine that Crosby will still be an effective player well into his late 30's. He's just that good.
