Some confusion in Toronto on Tuesday as an unknown player attends Leafs practice
Toronto media and fans were confused this morning as the Leafs took to the ice for practice. Absent was Noel Acciari and in his place was a player with no number or name on his jersey. The player was holding Acciari's spot on a line with Zach Aston-Reese and Sam Lafferty.
As it turns out, the unnamed and unknown forward was the University of Toronto Blues' forward Owen Robinson. Robinson is in his second year with UofT and put up a respectable 25 points in 33 games for the Blues this season. The 6-foot, 178 pound forward got to live every kids' childhood dream of skating with the Leafs, even if it was just in a practice.
This isn't the first time the Leafs have brought in a University of Toronto player to participate in practice as Blues' goalie Jett Alexander also joined the Leafs for a practice earlier this year.
