Some exciting Borje Salming news to announce

After being diagnosed with ALS at the start of the season, Bjore Salming sent a message to Leaf fans to let him know how he was doing during the fight of his life. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to speak in the video, but his spirits remained high and he did give fans the thumbs up to let them know he was thinking of them.

While the outlook is grim, Salming and Leafs fans got some good news today as Salming's latest round of testing was good enough that he was able to get clearance to fly to Toronto for Hockey Hall of Fame weekend. The reception Salming will receive next weekend will undoubtedly be one of the longest and loudest Scotiabank Arena has heard, perhaps ever.

It will likely be the last time Salming is able to visit Toronto, but it will be a memorable visit to say the least. We can only wish him the best in his battle with ALS and continue to shower him with love and support during this unfathomable time.
