Some good news to report from Leafs practice
While most of the news surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs of late has been bad news, there is some good news to report on Sunday, stemming from Leafs practice.
Per The Hockey News reporter David Alter, Leafs captain John Tavares has made his way onto the ice at Ford Performance Centre in Toronto, indicating that he has been cleared to return to play, effectively exiting COVID protocol.
Earlier on Sunday, Leafs defenseman had been placed in protocol, bringing the total to 14 players. With Tavares coming off of the list, the Leafs now have 13 players in protocol for the time being.
Tavares had been placed in protocol back on December 17th while in Vancouver, BC, prior to their matchup with the Canucks on December 18th being postponed.
