Yet another Leafs player added to COVID-19 protocol on Sunday
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced via their official Twitter account this morning that defenseman Jake Muzzin has been placed on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.
The news comes on the very same day that the Leafs are expected to re-open the team's training facilities and in the hours leading up to the first Leafs practice since the team had shut down all activities prior to the Christmas break.
The Leafs now have had 14 players enter COVID protocol, though the vast majority of players were asymptomatic or experiencing only minor symptoms.
After having five games postponed due to the escalating COVID-19 situation around the league, the Leafs were expected to return to game action on December 29th, when they play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins. No word yet on whether that game will be rescheduled.
