Almost two whole rounds have gone by since Tampa Bay Lightning pivot Brayden Point was injured against the Leafs in round 1, and while he has been hard at work and skating almost every day, the updates on his status throughout the Bolts' round 3 matchup against the New York Rangers have not seemed favourable to him returning at all in this series. Here's the injury he suffered back in Game 7 against the Leafs.

On Saturday morning, when asked about Point's status ahead of Game 6 in Tampa, Bolts head coach Jon Cooper stated that the pre-game skate would reveal a lot about whether or not Point could be an option on Saturday. If he was skating, he'd be listed as a game-time decision. If he was not on the ice, he would be a no-go.

Well, good news to report on the Point front, as the 26-year-old was indeed on the ice for Tampa's pre-game skate, meaning that there is a chance that he could return to the lineup for Game 6, just in time to try to help his team punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals for the third time in the last 3 seasons.

This is not good news for Rangers fans, who now may be looking at facing an even deeper Tampa team who is already pretty damn efficient in elimination games. If the Rangers want to have any hope of forcing a Game 7 back at MSG, they're going to have to bring their absolute best effort on Saturday night.
