With just 6 and a half weeks until the NHL's annual trade deadline, we're beginning to see the line in the sand drawn between the league's buyers and sellers. There are, however, some teams who may not have yet decided which side of the line they'll be on come March 3rd.

There are a few bubble teams who are expected to be buyers in the Eastern Conference, including the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers and potentially even the Buffalo Sabres. There's also one team in the Atlantic Division who could end up surprise buyers, according to recent comments made by their GM. That team is the Ottawa Senators.

Per a report from Sens correspondent Bruce Garrioch, Senators GM Pierre Dorion told TVA sports this week that his team's performance over the next few weeks will ultimately decide if his team sells or buys at the deadline. The Sens have accumulated 43 points, which is 8 points out of the final Wild Card spot in the East - a spot currently held by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"If we go on a streak and win several games by the trade deadline, I don't see us as sellers or on the status quo: we could be buyers."

-Dorion on his plans for the upcoming trade deadline

Whether or not the Sens end up as buyers or sellers at the deadline remains to be seen, but I have a hard time believing that the Sens are going to push teams like Florida, Pittsburgh and Washington to the outside of the playoff picture.
