The Leafs played spectacular hockey in front of rookie netminder Erik Kallgren once again on Thursday as they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2, pushing Kallgren's record to 2-0-1 on the season.

While there was a lot of be happy about in the win, for the third time in four games, and the 12th time time this season, the Leafs took a "too many men" penalty, which leads the league. The Leafs are the only team with double digit too many men penalties, and head coach Sheldon Keefe is not happy. Asked about it post-game, Keefe sounded off on his team:

"It's unacceptable. It's now reached the point of embarrassment. We have to be better than that. As much as I was happy with the win, that was at the top of my list to talk about with the team. Enough is enough."

If there are two areas that the Leafs will need to clean up before the postseason in terms of infractions, it's the bench minors for too many men and the delay of game penalties for firing the puck over the glass.

The team has done a much better job with the latter this season, but the former is worse than ever. Attention to detail is going to be the key for the Leafs down the stretch and into the postseason. Toronto's special teams may be excellent, but you're not going to want to give teams like the Lightning and the Panthers free power plays when the games really begin to matter in May.
