Per The Athletic's Julian McKenzie, the Montreal Canadiens have brought in the legend himself, Hall of Famer Martin St. Louis, as the club's interim head coach. Take that in for a moment.
St. Louis retired back in 2015 after playing 17 NHL seasons and winning a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning back in 2003-04. He has won several individual awards as well, including 3 Lady Byng Trophies, 2 Art Ross Trophies, a Hart Trophy and a Ted Lindsay Award.
While St. Louis certainly has a winning pedigree as a player, we don't yet know what he'll be able to do coaching in the NHL ranks - especially in a pressure cooker of a market like Montreal.
The good news for Marty is that, since the Habs have pretty much already hit rock bottom, it can't get much worse.
