Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Conor Timmins is doing everything he can to get in the lineup and stay in there. After a series of long stretches in the press box, the 25-year-old got back into the mix last night against the Seattle Kraken after being a healthy scratch the previous three games.

Unfortunately, Timmins' exuberance to get back into the lineup caused him to make a dangerous play on Kraken forward Brandon Tanev early in the game. Timmins laid a cross-check on Tanev sending him into the boards behind the Leafs' net. Tanev immediate went after Timmins, taking execption.

Today, the NHL Player of Department Safey announced that Timmins has been fined $2,864.58, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for his cross-check on Tanev.

The former second round pick missed October and most of November with a lower-body injury sustained during the preseason. Since coming back from injury, he has played 15 games this season scoring 1 goal and 6 points while averaging 15:49 in ice time.

Timmins has only gotten in the lineup twice in the Toronto's last fifteen games.
