Tim Stutzle's latest dive was an absolute embarrassment
Tim Stutzle is a former 3rd overall pick who has a very bright future in the NHL. His skill is undeniable - let's just get that out of the way right now. However, another aspect of his game is not earning him the best reputation and has become more than a mild annoyance, especially with the number of penalties he draws.
Stutzle has developed a reputation of being a bit of a diver. In case you're not privy to this aspect of his game, take a look at some of his handy work:
Well, if these weren't bad enough examples of what Stutzle has become known for, there was a play in last night's game involving Stutzle and Leafs defenseman Mark Giordano, where Giordano made a simply play on the puck, making minimal contact with Stutzle, sending the young forward flying through the air, catching some major hang time.
Was he off-balance? Maybe. Did he catch a rut in the ice? Perhaps. But there are far too many examples of this kid throwing himself through the air and down to the ice to give him the benefit of the doubt. It's becoming downright embarrassing to watch.
