We know that Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella is a demanding coach. That much has been evident since he became a full-time head coach back in 2001. It's also tough to argue with the results, as Torts has been to a Conference Final and a Stanley Cup Final in his career, winning a Cup with Tampa back in 2003-04.

The Flyers were one of the worst teams in the NHL last season and the team didn't get any better after losing Claude Giroux, but yet here they are in 2022-23, playing like a better team and holding each other accountable. Now 5-3-2, the Flyers are off to a much better start than they were last season and much of that is due to the way Tortorella runs things and what he demands from his team.

Following the disappointing loss to the Leafs, Tortorella had a lot to say, applauding the efforts of some of his players, but absolutely eviscerating others. Torts didn't name names, so we don't know who is officially in his doghouse, but we do know from his postgame comments that some guys got an earful from the veteran coach.

The Flyers and Leafs next meet on December 22nd, once again in Toronto and then again on January 8th in Philly. Given the way this one ended, with Konecny going after Matthews, Gio and Hayes dropping the mitts and Bunting trying to grab ahold of any Flyer he could get his hands on, those are probably two games you'll want to circle on the calendar.
