With the NHL's trade freeze set to kick in at midnight tonight, the Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers, and Detroit Red Wings executed a rare 3-team trade earlier this afternoon.

According to CapFriendly, the Anaheim Ducks received defense-man, Michael Del Zotto from the Florida Panthers, the Panthers then received forward, Givani Smith, from the Detroit Red Wings, who then received Danny O'Regan from the Anaheim Ducks.

It's somewhat of an inconsequential move as Del Zotto has spent the year in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers, where he scored 2 goals and 10 points in 25 games. Givani Smith has been apart of the Red Wings organization since 2016 but has only cracked the NHL roster for 85 games in parts of 4 seasons. While O'Regan has 30 NHL games under his belt since being drafted in the 5th round in 2012.

All seem destined to return back to the AHL on their new teams but also looking to pave their way back to an NHL roster spot in a change of scenery move that was required for each individual involved.
