Scarborough natives and Toronto Maple Leafs forwards Wayne Simmonds and Michael Bunting are partnering with the Scarborough Health Network Foundation and endorsed the #LoveScarborough campaign on Twitter.

The #LoveScarborough campaign is trying to raise $100 million for Scarborough hospitals. As Bunting said in his tweet "Scarborough is one of Canada's most diverse communities and its community members deserve access to exceptional and inclusive health care."

Scarborough is home to 25% of Toronto's population, yet they only receive 1% of hospital donations in the city. Bunting and Simmonds are wearing shirts in the tweet that show the #LoveScarborough campaigns slogan "Toronto isn't Toronto without us."

Both Bunting and Simmonds have been very vocal about their love of Scarborough and how growing up there influenced their decisions to sign with the Leafs. Both players left money on the table in order to sign with their hometown team and both players never lost connections with their roots no matter where their careers took them.

Bunting and Simmonds are using their platforms to promote the need for change and equitable healthcare in Scarborough. This is another factor, along with their on ice contributions that make the two Scarborough native's integral parts of the Leafs.
