A few days ago, Dan Kingerski reported that the Pittsburgh Penguins were interested in Edmonton Oilers defenseman Tyson Barrie, but on Sunday, another team has been added to the list of potential suitors, should the Oilers choose to move him.

Ottawa Senators reporter Bruce Garrioch is reporting that the Sens are connected to Barrie. The 30-year-old turned back into the Tyson Barrie of old after the joining the Oilers following a brief stint with the Maple Leafs. Barrie has put up good numbers with the Oilers over the last two years, playing in 129 games and scoring 89 points.

The right-shot defender can bring some much-needed offensive flair to a young Ottawa defense corps that already boasts the likes of Thomas Chabot, Artem Zub and prospect Jake Sanderson. He could be a great mentor for the kids.

Barrie has two seasons remaining on his current deal, carrying a $4.5M cap hit. The Oilers have reportedly soured on Barrie some following a playoff run during which the offensive defenseman managed to contribute just 1 goal and 5 points over a 16-game span.
