The Montreal Canadiens and their fanbase can breathe a collective sigh of relief on Saturday after the announcement that 2022 1st overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky has been cleared to return to the lineup for the Prospects Tournament.

A report from a New Jersey reporter that the Habs were preparing to announce that Slafkovsky would be shut down for the remaining of the tournament appears to have been premature. Per a Habs report from TVA's Marc-Andre Perreault, Slafkovsky is expected to be back in the lineup tomorrow.

The play that was believed to have caused an injury for Slafkovsky occurred on Thursday after the 18-year-old cut to the middle of the ice just inside of the Sabres' blueline. As a result, Slafkovsky was held out of the Habs prospects' next game.

Crisis averted. We all know what it's like as hockey fans to fear the worst for a star player after an absence due to a hard hit. Thankfully, Habs fans can relax and watch Slafkovsky do his thing again on Sunday.
