During the second quarter of the Toronto Ratpors' game against the Indiana Pacers at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday, patrons in attendance had to be evacuated due to a fire that had started in an overhead speaker.

Toronto Fire Services were able to contain and extinguish the fire, no one in attendance was injured and after an approximate 40-minute delay, the game between the Raptors and Pacers was able to resume, albeit without fans in attendance for precautionary reasons.

There were obvious concerns on Saturday that Sunday's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers, which was scheduled to take place at Scotiabank Arena, might be postponed, but it appears as though the game will be able to proceed as scheduled.

Per an announcement from MLSE, the maintenance crew intends to have the issue repaired well in advance of the Leafs/Panthers game tonight, complete with full fan attendance.

Sunday's game against the Panthers marks the first time that the two Atlantic Division rivals will face off this season. Two more meetings are scheduled to take place in April as well.
