Last night, Dubas made his return to Toronto for the first time as a member of the Penguins' front office and things did not go well at all. With the Leafs up 6-0 in the third period, Leaf fans had some fun at the expense of their former GM to rub some salt in the wounds. The sold out Scotiabank Arena crowd began chanting "DUUUUBBBAAASSSSS, DUUUUUBBBBAAASSSS", much to the chagrin of the ex-Leafs GM.
Dubas and his now right-hand man Jason Spezza were not very pleased with how the game went and Dubas in particular looked visibly frustrated, seen standing in the press box tugging on his suit jacket. Needless to say the pair were gone from the press box before the final horn even sounded. For many who felt Dubas turned his back on the Leafs, the 7-0 thumping was retribution and the taunting from the fans in attendance was a reminder to Dubas that you reap what you sow. Had he taken the deal presented to him from President Brendan Shanahan, he would not have been embarrassed like he was last night.
