William Nylander not satisfied with losing, headed to the World Championship tournament
For many of the Toronto Maple Leafs, they have a long summer ahead to ponder what went wrong for the sixth straight postseason. For others, namely winger William Nylander, there is more hockey ahead.
On Friday, the Swedish National team announced that Nylander would be joining Tre Kronor on Saturday at the IIHF World Championships, thus completing their 24-man roster. This will be Nylander's third World Championship tournament.
There's been plenty of discussion over the heart and determination of Nylander since he was drafted by the Leafs back in 2014. You're telling me this is a guy who doesn't want to win? This is a guy who doesn't love the game?
Nylander is one of two Leafs who have joined their respective National teams for the World's, the other being Czech center David Kampf. Nylander owns the highest points-per-game in World Championship play in nearly 30 years with 1.78 points per game.
