Washington Capitals goaltender, Charlie Lindgren took home the honours of being the first star posting a 4-0-0 record after defeating the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Seattle Kraken, and Winnipeg Jets, while posting a sublime .949 SV%.
No surprise that Tage Thompson has entered the chat after posting a ridiculous stat-line against the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier in the week. He scored 5 goals and added an assist and ended the week by chipping in with another helper, giving him 5 goals and 7 points in 3 games and good enough for second star honours.
William Nylander was the hero in the Maple Leafs' overtime win against the Calgary Flames on Saturday as he had a hand in all 5 goals (2 goals and 3 assists). For the week he scored 3 goals and added 4 assists, being named the third star for his 7-point effort last week.
Nylander has been one of many bright spots for the Maple Leafs since their slow start to the season (4-4-2). Not only have they gone 14-1-4 since that stretch but they are currently riding a 14-game point streak as they sit 11-0-3 in that stretch. If it's not Mitch Marner or Auston Matthews, it's William Nylander or John Tavares, or sometimes all 4. It's a dangerous team to go head-to-head with at the moment and things don't look to be slowing down any time soon with performances like these.
