William Nylander swears during live post-game interview, apologizes immediately
Last night, the Leafs took care of business, thanks in large to a stellar outing from netminder Joseph Woll, who posted a .974 SV%, stopping 38 of the 39 shots he faced and 5 of the 6 shots he faced in the shootout.
Following the Leafs' thrilling shootout victory over the Panthers on Tuesday, William Nylander was among those who had met with the media to talk about the game. Unfortunately for the star winger, he brought a little locker room talk with him.
When asked about the game, Nylander admitted that their 1st period didn't go so well, and expressed the importance of surging back in the 2nd frame, accidentally dropping an F-bomb in the process.
"We all knew that we could play better. I mean, we needed to dig deep, show some fking, oh sorry, character & I think that kind of took over in the second period there."
Nylander caught himself an apologized immediately, but the damage had already been done. Funny, though, how Nylander was so polite and soft-spoken as he delivered the most infamous curse word during the interview.
Nothing is likely to come from this in terms of supplemental discipline. This isn't the first time a player let the word slip before and I'm sure it won't be the last.
