The Boston Bruins currently have 22/23 players signed through next season, with captain Patrice Bergeron expected to sign any day now. One of the players who is signed is winger Jake DeBrusk, who famously demanded a trade out of Boston last season. Fortunately for the Bruins, DeBrusk has had a change of heart.
According to TSN's Ryan Rishaug, Debrusk has officially rescinded his trade request and wants to remain a member of the Bruins organization.
Jake Debrusk, 25, had a solid year this season, posting 25 goals and 17 assists for 42 points in 77 games. Those numbers aren't bad for a player who saw mostly third and second line minutes all year.
Heading into this year Debrusk definitely has to prepare to take on a more integral role with the team. With an aging core, the Bruins are looking for some of their younger guys to step up and shoulder a heavier load.
