Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli has reported this afternoon that the Oilers are expected to have rookie winger Dylan Holloway in the lineup tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. Holloway was selected 14th overall in 2020, just one spot ahead of Leafs draft pick Rodion Amirov, who is currently undergoing treatment for a brain tumor in Germany.
Holloway played 33 games for the AHL's Bakersfield Condors this season, notching 8 goals and 14 assists for 22 points in his first run as a pro. The 20-year-old played the previous two seasons in the NCAA as a member of the University of Wisconsin Badgers, racking up a combined 52 points in 58 games at the collegiate level.
Holloway is a physical, speedy left winger who possesses excellent stick-handling abilities, protects the puck well and never quits on the backcheck. He's the type of prospect who can help the Oilers to create a few extra neutral zone turnovers and hopefully help to create some additional offensive chances.
