The Avs lost Nazem Kadri less than 2 minutes into Game 3 last night as Evander Kane cross-checked him from behind into the boards, causing injury. Avs coach Jared Bednar was asked about Kadri's injury and if it was a broken hand, but he was not able to confirm.

Bednar also confirmed that Kadri will be out at least for the rest of the Western Conference Final and possibly longer. Kane had a hearing with the Department of Player Safety this afternoon and was suspended for one game. Yes, you read that correctly, one game for ending Kadri's season with what everyone knows is a dangerous play. Once again Player Safety is spinning the wheel to determine suspension length and it's absolutely embarrassing.

It is not the first time Kane has been suspended. Since 2011/2012 Kane has been suspended 4 additional times for on ice incidents and 21 games this season for violating Covid protocols:

2 games, 12/7/14 v Stoner (Ana)

1 game, 4/26/18 v Bellemare (VGK)

3 games, 9/29/19, abuse of official

3 games, 2/14/20 v Pionk (Wpg)

21 games, 10/18/21, COVID protocol

How long is the NHL going to keep doing this? How is George Parros still employed? If this is Nathan MacKinnon that Kane takes out of the playoffs, does the NHL react more swiftly and harshly? What a joke. Absolutely disgraceful.
