The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to make their way through the preseason missing one of their star players, William Nylander. As a restricted free agent, Nylander is still without a contract and according to various NHL Insiders including Bob McKenzie, the youngster isn't close to signing one anytime soon. So the Leafs have had to move forward and go through training camp and preseason without him, and instead of playing with Nylander, Auston Matthews has been playing with Tyler Ennis. Matthews has been in contact with Nylander as he hopes the forward will return sometime soon. "He's obviously focused on making sure he's in good shape so when that [contract] gets done he can come here. I talked to him a little bit over the last couple weeks but you don't want to keep peppering him and bothering him."Even though Matthews has been building a little bit of chemistry with Ennis, we're sure he'd prefer to be skating with Nylander. What do you think of Matthews comments?
