Auston Matthews forced out of Game 4
After ending the second period on the bench, Auston Matthews did not return for the third period for an unknown reason.
Auston Matthews missed the last two Leaf practices as he battled through an illness. He also played in game three with an illness and after playing just 14:16 through two periods, Matthews was not on the bench to begin the third period. After the Leafs cut the Bruins' lead to two, the Leafs announced that Matthews would not return for the remainder of the game.
Through the series so far, Matthews has been held pointless in games one, three and four, but registered a goal and two assists in the Leafs' game two victory. While it is likely his illness that Chris Cuthbert speculated was food poisoning, is what is keeping him from playing the third, there is no doubt Sheldon Keefe will be asked for an update following the game.
