The Toronto Maple Leafs have been hampered by injuries all season long and the injury concerns continue after Joseph Woll and Connor Dewar miss practice following the Leafs' win over the Lightning.

A hard-fought 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday has the Leafs sitting pretty comfortably atop the Atlantic Division with a 5-point lead over the second place Florida Panthers.

Unfortunately for the Leafs, however, they did not escape Monday's game against Tampa Bay unscathed. Both Connor Dewar and Pontus Holmberg had some bumps and bruises in the game, with the bench shortening considerably for the Leafs.

Thankfully, a standout performance from Matthew Knies, who has earned a lot of admiration from head coach Craig Berube, the Leafs were able to hold on for a gutsy win to extend their win streak to 3 games.

The Leafs are already without the likes of Anthony Stolarz, Calle Jarnkrok, John Tavares and Max Pacioretty, who are all sidelined for various reasons, but it looks like there are some additional potential injury issues in Toronto after both Dewar and goaltender Joseph Woll were absent from practice on Tuesday.

Woll had a busy night for the Leafs last night, facing 30 shots against Tampa, so there is certainly a chance that his absence from practice is maintenance-related.

However, with Woll's extensive injury history, I don't think it's an overreaction to show concern over a potential injury -- especially with Stolarz still working his way back to full health following knee surgery.

The good news for the Leafs is that they happen to be pretty deep at the goaltending position, with Dennis Hildeby and Matt Murray capable of stepping in as a stop-gap if Woll does miss some time.

Murray has recently begun to surge in Toronto, posting back-to-back shutouts for the Marlies, trying to show management that he deserves another shot in the NHL after an up-and-down first couple of appearances earlier this season.

The hope is that the absence for Woll is to allow him to take some additional rest, but until we have an update from Craig Berube, I'm sure everyone will be waiting nervously. Understandably so.

It's worth noting that both Dewar and Woll missed the start of the season due to injury.
