"It's been a bit of a rough last couple of months for Auston Matthews in the media. It hasn't exactly been the best on the ice either at times, however the Leafs' forward continues to produce. Matthews scored last night in Vancouver and now has three goals in two games which brings his season totals up to 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points in 32 games. With his goal last night, Matthews set a new Toronto Maple Leafs' franchise record. Matthews is now the fastest player in Maple Leafs history to began his career with 100 even strength goals after hitting the mark last night in his 244th game. Matthews' mark surpasses the previous mark by Gordie Drillon who hit in 255 games.
