An incident regarding Mitch Marner and Babcock during his rookie season went viral.Babcock had made Marner rate all the Leafs players in order of laziness and instead of keeping that list private, he threw Marner under the bus and read the list to the whole team in front of Marner. Marner admitted the situation hurt however added that he's put it behind him. President and alternate governor for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brendan Shanahan, was asked about the incident during the Board of Governor meetings today.
«I addressed it right away with Mike and Mike apologized to Mitch. It wasn't something that was appropriate or acceptable to us.»
