"The Toronto Maple Leafs blew a really tough game last night to the St. Louis Blues. Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen was simply incredible, but the team just couldn't keep it together at the end of the game. In the loss both William Nylander and Mitch Marner had their moments and after busting through the league last year, neither might even match their point totals form their rookie seasons. The drop of production is not a concern for head coach Mike Babcock. «I think both players are substantially better when you look at what they are right now here today,» Babcock said. «I think both of them have had their moments this year.
«I thought Mitch started slow and really got going. I think Willie has had really good stretches and not-as-good stretches.
«Part of it is them and part of it is the competition. The competition didn't even know who they were last year. I think the league catches up to everybody. I think the league knows who you are.»Nylander has 32 points in 45 games so far this season while Marner has 31 points in 45 games putting them on pace for 58 and 56 points respectively, they each hit 61 points last season.
