The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to push to acquire a center ahead of the March 7th trade deadline and the 4 current frontrunners have been identified.

The Maple Leafs have officially bumped their 3-game mini slump, putting together back-to-back wins against the Alberta teams, securing a 4-3 win in Edmonton on Saturday followed by a 6-3 win over Calgary on Tuesday.
Even after recently welcoming John Tavares back to the lineup, the most common talking point surrounding the Leafs is the need for an additional center.
On Wednesday evening, The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta shared a list of the potential trade target frontrunners for the Leafs. Aside from Cozens, there were 3 other names mentioned, who have all been connected to the Leafs at some point this season.
Brock Nelson, Yanni Gourde and Scott Laughton appear to be among the favourites for the Leafs at this point, as per several recent reports. However, Pagnotta made it seem like Laughton might be priority number 1 for Brad Treliving, were it not for his high current asking price.
"Toronto is looking, they are trying to see where they can make an addition. Scott Laughton [is] still kind of part of the conversation from a third line role, but the asking price is still high. I don't know if Toronto wants to give up any of their top prospects in order to make that happen so we'll see kind of where that goes, but Toronto's looking and they want to make something happen before the deadline."
Pagnotta also mentioned that the Leafs are trying their best to keep their options open in case someone unexpected becomes available -- in which case, they'll be able to pounce quickly.
