Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks enjoyed a long history of success together, scandals aside of course, but when rumours of a potential return to Chicago arose this summer, Davidson was very quick to put them to bed.
After being drafted 1st overall by the Hawks back in 2007, Kane, along with his running mates Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews, Brent Seabrook, Corey Crawford and others, became the closest thing to a modern hockey dynasty as you'll see.
The Blackhawks won 3 Stanley Cup championships with Kane in 2010, 2013 and 2015 while also going deep in 2014 and 2009.
In 1,230 career regular season games to date, Kane has produced 471 career goals and 1,284 career NHL points in the regular season, adding another 138 points in 143 playoff games. He also posted 20 goals and 47 points in 50 games for the Red Wings this past season, showing that he can still play the game at a very high level.
While many fans in Chicago were clinging onto hope that Kane might return and retire a Blackhawk, it looks like that simply will not happen.
