Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock announced early on Monday that Garret Sparks would be starting Monday's game against the Los Angeles Kings. Now we know the real reason why. The Leafs followed that up with calling up goalie Eamon McAdam from the ECHL on an emergency basis because starting goalie Frederik Andersen is currently dealing with a knee injury. Details of Andersen's injury haven't been released yet and he's being labeled as "day to day" for the moment. Suddenly losing Curtis McElhinney and Calvin Pickard on waivers might hurt a little bit more than before. More to come.
