"The Toronto Maple Leafs head into tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers with a 3-2-0 record however they'll be without two key players. We heard earlier this morning that Auston Matthews will miss tonight's game due to injury and now we know another player will be out for an extended period of time. General manager Kyle Dubas announced that forward Joe Thornton has been placed on long term injured reserve. That means Toronto will go into tonight's game with only Mitch Marner remaining from their top line. More details to come.
