"It was some late breaking news this week as William Nylander was placed into COVID protocol just minutes before the Toronto Maple Leafs' game against the Montreal Canadiens. While Toronto has made it clear that it was a preventative measure and not because Nylander tested positive himself. Nylander has been labelled as someone who was in contact with somebody who tested positive and he'll remain in isolation. Head coach Sheldon Keefe told media members on Friday that Nylander will be out another 7 days as he remains in protocol away from the team. Defenseman Morgan Rielly has stayed in contact with Nylander. "He's doing alright. He's just going to do whatever he's got to do. He wants us to win, so he'll be watching [the games], but I think he's doing okay." Keefe also made sure it was clear that Nylander would be missing 7 days at minimum, he won't be back sooner and could be out longer.
