"Countries participating in the 2021 World Juniors tournament announced their final cuts today and we saw some interesting decisions. It's pretty tough this year with the NHL season on January 13, which means lots of prospects might not be able to attend their NHL team's training camp. This is a problem for the Toronto Maple Leafs. NHL insider Bob McKenzie reports there is quite an internal struggle regarding the Leafs and a decision on Nick Robertson. McKenzie relays that the Leafs aren't sure Robertson will make the NHL roster so they want him to be at camp... However they also want him at the World Juniors. Robertson is already in Canada, training in Toronto so he wouldn't have to go through any serious quarantine period to join Team USA in Edmonton. However the reverse would be the opposite, if Robertson were to go to Edmonton, as per NHL rules, he would have to quarantine for 7 days upon his arrival back in Toronto. That means if Team USA were to make it to the Gold Medal game on January 5, Robertson would miss training camp as the season starts January 13. The Chicago Blackhawks for example have already guaranteed Kirby Dach an NHL roster spot so they have no problems with him missing camp, however Toronto doesn't feel Robertson is a lock to make the NHL roster. Do you think the Leafs should let Robertson play for Team USA?
