"When Kyle Dubas took over as general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, many believed that Mike Babcock's days as Leafs' head coach were numbered. Babcock felt the same way and a riff started between the two almost immediately. While Dubas tried to construct a roster, Babcock refused to play certain players like Justin Holl and was basically making any work Dubas was doing futile. Now some details have been revealed about how Babcock used his playing time powers to basically axe a deal Dubas was working on. Former Leafs' video coach Jack Han took to Twitter recently to reveal some Babcock stories and one of them was axing a Red Wings-Leafs trade. "My third favorite Mike Babcock story:
At the 2019 trade deadline we were discussing bringing in RD Nick Jensen from DET to play on an active, puck-moving 3rd pair with Dermott.
MB essentially said fine, but if we get him then he'll put Jensen in and sit Dermott."
Jensen was eventually traded to the Washington Capitals for Madison Bowey and a second round pick. He's got eight points in 21 games so far this season. Would you have like to see this trade happen back in 2018-19?
