The Frederik Andersen sweepstakes have begun and it's more than likely the Leafs goalie is shipped out of town during the offseason. As has been made clear by plenty of analysts, before Andersen is traded out of Toronto, the Leafs will like to have locked in their new starting goalie.Who that is, nobody knows yet as it seems general manager Kyle Dubas can't lock in a deal on his old friend Matt Murray. Where Andersen could be headed though will become clearer over the coming weeks and it seems one Western Conference team might be the perfect fit and trade partner. Jonas Siegal of The Athletic points to the Edmonton Oilers as a team who would be a great landing spot for Andersen and also a team that could provide the Leafs with what they want.... a right shot defenseman. Adam Larsson could be the perfect fit for the Leafs' blueline on the right side. "He makes obvious sense for the Leafs, a solid right shot, making reasonable money for one more season ($4.1 million cap hit) who's fallen to No. 4 on Edmonton's depth chart. Connect him with Rielly and the Leafs have got themselves a dependable second pair.
Given the limited commitment and as a result, likely lighter acquisition cost, Larsson looks a decent short-term play for the Leafs. Edmonton needs scoring help on the wing, and a starting goaltender. Is there a trade here?"
Would you move Andersen for Larsson?
