"Former Toronto Maple Leafs' head coach Mike Babcock has been pretty quiet ever since he was fired by the Leafs. After a story involving Mitch Marner came out, many people believed he wouldn't coach again in the NHL. He hasn't been connected to any vacant coaching jobs.... until now. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Babcock has interviewed for one of the vacant head coaching gigs in the league. Friedman reports that the Washington Capitals have interviewed Babcock along with Gerard Gallant for their head coaching position and that Babcock is a serious contender for the job.
