On Calle Jarnkrok, who has been at the forefront of trade rumours recently, the Swedish winger returned to practice on Saturday after missing time with a lower-body injury.
Jarnkrok skated with the club until they changed rinks at their practice facility (Ford Performance Center, in Etobicoke) before departing to the dressing room. On the other side of the injury spectrum, Tavares, was injured Thursday night against the Habs and was absent from practice again as he deals with a suspected knee injury.
Tavares noted following the matchup against Montreal on Thursday that his leg began to tighten up as the game went on and was eventually shut down by head coach Craig Berube in third period.
After taking reps in Tavares' spot on the top power-play unit yesterday during a 'special teams' practice, forward Bobby McMann was also absent from practice today. The 28-year-old McMann has a history of leg and knee issues.
The Leafs seemingly can't escape the injury bug during training camp this year, but hopefully the injuries to McMann and Tavares are more 'bumps and bruises' rather than something more severe that could cause them to miss an extended period of time. The severity of their injuries will play a substantial role in the coming days as roster cuts are expected at some point following Saturday's game in Montreal.
