As the Maple Leafs continue to scour the trade market for some depth down the middle, Elliotte Friedman confirmed there is no shot of them re-acquiring Nazem Kadri.
Unfortunately, Treliving won't be able to reunite with Kadri or bring the London, Ontario native back to Toronto as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed on 'Saturday Headlines' that the Flames are not trading the 34-year-old.
"The Flames have told teams that Rasmus Andersson, Nazem Kadri and Mackenzie Weegar are not available. Weeger has a contract, Kadri has a contract, but a number of teams have asked about him... They have told teams that have specifically asked about those players, 'we're keeping them.'"
The former Leaf has 18 goals and 36 points in 52 games for the Flames this season and would have added the sandpaper and scoring that the middle-six of the Leafs desperately needs.
As the available centers are dwindling, Treliving will have to find someone to fill what some consider the most glaring hole in the Leafs' lineup sooner than later before he is forced to pay an astronomical price or before he misses out entirely and has to settle for a mediocre depth piece.
