Insider identifies the 4 teams with a legitimate chance to acquire Mitch Marner
Mitch Marner's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs is still in limbo, and according to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, there are four teams that will interest Marner.
There is no imminent resolution coming regarding the future of Marner and his tenure with the Leafs and there is no certainty as to whether or not he will be traded as 'insiders' have shared conflicting reports about the current situation.
However, yesterday on 'Leafs Morning Take', David Pagnotta touched on the situation and revealed the four most likely teams to land Marner if he were to be traded.
"I believe there are four teams he would go to. I believe there are a few moreif they are going to try and do this, they are going to try and maximize the value as much as they can (regarding paying signing bonus/signing extension)I think Vegas would be a team he would go to, I think Dallas would be, I think Chicago would be - I don't know how Chicago would work, I don't see a fit there, and I think there is Nashville and a few more he would consider."
Nashville, Vegas and Dallas have been rumoured to be potential landing spots for Marner before, but Chicago is certainly a surprising one given that they are nowhere close to being a playoff contender. However, playing with Connor Bedard and a handful of other promising young players could be enough to persuade Marner to go there.
As much as everyone wants a resolution or decision to come sooner than later, it does not appear that will happen and the situation will continue to be a storyline beyond July 1st.
Marner finished last season with 26 goals and 85 points in just 69 games.
