"Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen seems to have run into a wall lately. He's struggled a bit but it can't all be put on Freddy's shoulders as the defense has looked pretty bad too. There's been some chatter that starting 36 out of 46 games so far this season is starting to catch up. Is Andersen currently dealing with a fatigue issue?Head coach Sheldon Keefe doesn't think so, he thinks it might actually be the opposite and Freddy should start more!"I don't think fatigue is the issue. We've done a pretty good job managing that of late. In fact, when his workload was heavier he was playing better ... so maybe it's something the other way, perhaps, we have to look at to get him in a better rhythm ..."
Andersen has a 21-8-5 record along with a 2.82 goals against average and .912 save percentage on the season but only has five wins and a 4.00 goals against average and .883 save percentage over the last 30 days. What do you think of Keefe's comments?
