Joel Edmundson absolutely drills David Pastrnak with a violent hit
Joel Edmundson set the tone for the Maple Leafs in the 1st period with a monstrous hit on David Pastrnak, showing the Bruins that they're not going to go away easy.
The play occurred early in the first period as Pastrnak accepted a pass behind the Leafs' net, thinking he was going to pull it out front for a scoring chance. Edmundson, a tough customer, made Pastrnak pay for it.
Pastrnak did hop right back up to his feet following the hit, but there's no question that that one hurt. Edmundson stands 6'5 and over 220 lbs, so you know Pasta felt that one.
Pastrnak was the target of some harsh criticism from his head coach Jim Montgomery following the Bruins' Game 6 loss in Toronto, so you know he's looking to make an impact. Unfortunately, he took the impact from Edmundson instead.
