Speculation continues to build about what Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas will do to free up some salary cap space. Patrick Marleau and Nikita Zaitsev are pretty much guaranteed to be shipped out, however either of those trades could likely require Dubas to take a big contract back so Dubas will still need to free up space. That's why Nazem Kadri continues to be labelled as being on the trade block. Kadri has plenty of value as a young, talented two way forward who's just a year removed from back to back 30 goal seasons. We've heard him attached to the Philadelphia Flyers and that has resurfaced once again with speculation the Flyers are having trouble trying to sign Kevin Hayes who's negotiation rights they traded for just a couple of days ago. The Flyers have made it clear that they're willing to move their first round pick and have a fully stacked prospect pipeline which they can poach from to acquire Kadri. It'll be an interesting story to follow over the next couple of weeks.
