The undersized Lisowsky was drafted 218th in the 7th round. The 2022 draft pick continued to improve season after season, and put up an impressive 42 goals and 38 assists in 68 games this year for the Saskatoon Blades.
Lisowsky is clearly a skilled goal scorer, notching at least 30 goals in each of his last 3 seasons with the Blades.
Time is ticking as there is only a few weeks left to get his Entry-level NHL contract signed. If Toronto fails to sign him to an ELC before June 1st, he will be eligible to sign with any team of his choosing.
Fellow teammate and Leafs prospect Fraser Minten raved about Lisowskys talent earlier this week in a conversation with TSN's Mark Masters, so it's probably safe to say he'd like to see the Leafs and Lisowsky get something done.
If Lisowsky can become an actual player for the Leafs, it further enforces that their late pick drafting has turned a page, as there are quite a few prospects in the pipeline that were drafted beyond the first 2 or 3 rounds who have shown significant promise, Lisowsky among them.
We will see what happens in the next few weeks with Lisowsky, but let's hope the Leafs can lock up this intriguing prospect.
