We have already established that Nylander was dealing with migraine issues. Treliving also confirmed that Matthews was dealing with a head injury and a potential concussion during Round 1. However, when it comes to McMann, Dewar and especially Joseph Woll, there has been much less information available. Thanks to Brad Treliving, we have more clarity on those situations.
Treliving confirmed on Friday that McMann suffered an MCL sprain at the end of the season, confirming that the newly-extended winger would have been available at some point in Round 2, had the Leafs beaten the Bruins in Round 1.
On the Connor Dewar front, the feisty forward suffered a shoulder injury during the series against Boston and is undergoing surgery today to repair the damage. The hope is that Dewar will be good to go in time for training camp.
On Joseph Woll, Treliving has officially confirmed that Woll suffered a back sprain in the dying seconds of Game 6, which rendered him unavailable for Game 7. Originally, Woll was believed to have been dealing with a foot, knee or hip issue, as he was spotted walking gingerly. A back issue would certainly explain why he was laboring.
The Leafs' management group also discussed some possible changes, both on and off the ice, to help Woll in the health department in the wake of yet another injury.
We'll continue to monitor these issues moving forward and will provide further updates as they become available.
