"The clock is ticking and the Toronto Maple Leafs and Mitch Marner would ideally get a contract signed before Monday so general manager Kyle Dubas can participate in free agency. However the way things are going, it sounds like the Leafs negotiations with Marner could drag on into the summer unless he signs an offer sheet. We've heard over and over again how Marner wants "Auston Matthews money", but maybe the Leafs have figured out a bandaid solution?According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Leafs have come up with one final solution. A two year deal worth $8million a season to hold both sides over until the cap takes a big raise in a couple of summers. "I think the Leafs are going to offer him 2x8, I think they're going to say, we all believe the cap is going up in 2 years, why don't you sign then when we have more room and the maximum is higher?"
Do you see Marner taking any chance and signing this deal?
