There's been lots of chatter that the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for a new starting goalie. While that's the chatter, Frederik Andersen has yet to be traded and at the moment looks locked in to be the Leafs' starter for next year. However according to the Fourth Period, the Leafs' might be looking for a home run. Unfortunately it seems like the Leafs might be losing out on the Alex Pietrangelo sweepstakes so they might move that money somewhere else. The Fourth Period reports that the Leafs are in the mix to try and sign free agent goalie Braden Holtby. The Leafs along with the Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild are in the mix for Holtby. Holtby won the Vezina Trophy in 2015-16 and the Stanley Cup in 2017-18.With the current financial climate, the Leafs can probably have Holtby for cheaper than what they would have paid during a regular offseason. Would you like to see Holtby sign with the Leafs?
