Toronto Maple Leafs have shown interest in Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins, who does not see the Leafs as a desirable landing spot.

NHL analyst David Pagnotta mentioned on NHL Now this week how the Toronto Maple Leafs did inquire on Ullmark in Boston.

The former 2022-2023 Vezina winner, seems to have lost his job to teammate Jeremy Swayman. Swayman is due for a new contract, that is rumoured to be around a $8M-$9M AAV, which leaves little cap-room for Ullmark to stay in Boston.

Ullmark put up an impressive 22-10-7 record last year in 40 GP, where he had a .915 SVV and a 2.55 GAA. He only started one game in the playoffs, though, clearly indicating who the Bruins trust more in the cage.

Ullmark would be the perfect fit for a Leafs team that are looking for a goalie to be part of a tandem situation, with Joseph Woll. However, even though the Leafs have shown interest, the feeling seems like it is not mutual with Ullmark, as he put the Leafs on his no-trade list.

David Pagnotta, wrote this in his most recent article for The Fourth Period:

''The Leafs are not in the mix for Ullmark, though, as Toronto is on his no-trade list.''

Ilya Samsonov was not the answer last year in goal, and the Leafs desperately need to pick up a goalie fast after they missed out on the Jacob Markstrom and Darcy Kuemper sweepstakes, with the pair of netminders landing in New Jersey and Los Angeles, respectively.
